We've just formed an indie rock band in San Francisco's Mission District and we're looking for a female lead singer. Think of Stereolab, Cardigans or Helium and you'll get an idea of what kind of vocal style we have in mind.
We're looking for someone who can contribute with songwriting and/or lyrics, has her own equipment (at least a microphone), and can commit to twice-a-week practices and eventually playing out. Extra brownie points if you play guitar and/or keyboards.
On our end, some points of reference would include: My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai, Cocteau Twins, Sonic Youth, Swervedriver, Death Cab for Cutie, White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, Joy Division, and very early Cure/Siouxsie/U2.
