Mentors Needed to Help Disadvantage Youth
ROYAL- Realizing Our Youth as Leaders Inc. is an innovative non-profit agency working to prepare disadvantaged/at-risk youth for life and leadership.
Youth always need mentoring. A mentor provides positive attention, guidance, and role modeling to instill healthy life skills in children and teenagers. ROYAL MENTORS have a strong reputation of respect and efficacy.
Intensive training and supervision will be provided
Requirements:
Positive role model
Patience, flexibility, openness
Able to form healthy and caring relationship with youth
Able to establish firm limits and boundaries
Strong communication and listening skills
Cultural sensitivity
Consistency and available 4-8 hours per week
Able to commit for 1 year minimum
Undergo intensive training to understand self and others
Undergo intensive training and supervision to employ clinical/therapeutic interventions
Clear criminal background
Attend Mentor meeting every last Tuesday of the month- 6:00 p.m.

Clinical supervision and requirement fulfillment for college credits, practicum, and/or internships. (Depending upon requirements of class and college major)
