John Bonham is widely accepted as one off rocks great powerhouse drummers but he was also a funky muthafucka… His beats have been sampled, re-sampled and emulated countless times and formed the basis for many Rap. Hip-Hop and Trip hop hits.
Of course there are many great drummers who have this magical blend of power, groove and finesse… Another great example of one that comes to mind is Michael Bland of Prince/NPG fame. Another is the person we had in mind for future AREA 27 shows; our dear friend Jamie Chez who sadly passed away last Christmas Eve. Jamie appears playing bass and guitar on our song ‘Say My Name and is another Minneapolis native from the Paisley Park camp. His spirit lives on at AREA 27 and it’s time to start looking for his equal.
Our very own John Bonham/Michael Bland/Jamie Chez – A tall order but we know you’re out there somewhere.
An undiscovered talented - powerhouse & funkymuthafucka.- To join the team in 2007and be part of composing and recording our second CD and come out and play the future AREA 27 shows.
