Opinions regarding the Cowell Smokestack wanted

I am interested in saving the smokestack and am seeking the opinion of local residents and other interested parties. Members of the homeowners association responsible for the historical relic and it's future especially encouraged to write.
Until I get a survey written, those interested in starting a dialog please write and give memories of it, preference as to it's future, and it's value, considering the costs of demolishing it versus saving it, what would be the deciding factor... whichever is cheaper, or should we spend more to fix it than to remove it...
I would be happy to share some interesting facts I've uncovered about this monument and my only goal is to see it preserved rather than finding a place to bury it.
