Great for retirees and those with 'time off' during the day. Also great for people who have time off on the weekends to meet new people!
Volunteer greeters accompany visitors traveling together to various known neighborhoods around San Francisco sharing the delights that only a local knows. You don't need a car or detailed itinerary, just your enthusiasm!
Meeting a visitor is a fun and rewarding experience, but there are a few guidelines to make the experience positive for everyone. As a greeter, you are a friend and a welcome face, but you are also the leader. All prospective greeters will be asked to attend an orientation session to learn more about the program and expectations of a Greeter.
Qualifications
Volunteers must be upbeat about living in San Francisco
Volunteers are not tour guides, but friendly, welcoming faces
Volunteers must always be courteous to visitors
Volunteers must have a working knowledge of MUNI
Volunteers must be reliable and trustworty
