Have a horse but can't afford to pay someone to train or keep it in shape? I've been riding my entire life, professionally and for fun. I don't have my own horse because I can't afford one right now. I also cannot afford to lease due to a chronic pain illness I suffer from. I'm 29 years old, female, tall - 6 ft. Started out with jumping and last 4 years have been focused on dressage and trail/endurance riding. Awesome equestrian resume + references and letter of recommendation available. Started riding at age 5. Have been on every type of horse imaginable and prefer to ride the bigger breeds like Warmbloods, TB's, Friesians, etc. I have a lot of experience working as a groom/assistant trainer and riding instructor. Have worked under many prestigious and well known trainers & riders. I have most of my own tack, including my own dressage saddle, which I prefer to use on trails. Available afternoons/evenings during the week and some weekends. Would prefer something where I could ride up to 2-3 times per week. Looking for a horse in training or someone who wants their horse to learn some dressage because it is so beneficial for any horse. Past trainers have said wonderful things about my riding including: I ride with light hands, light aids and seat & I'm very firm but gentle with horses, young and old. I'm very good at reading a horse's behavior to determine how they are making progress and I try to work at their speed, not my own. Very safe rider, always wear a helmet, safety around horses comes first. EMT certification and knowledgeable about horse first aid/medicine, etc. Experienced in administering first aid and treatments, drugs. Can also trade services such as pet sitting, house sitting, and personal assistant type jobs for a lease.
I am currently riding a gelding in the Oakland Hills. I am mostly doing hour long trail rides to help get him back into shape and am looking for more horses to ride regularly especially during the week, in the same area. I am in Alameda so I cannot drive too far. Thanks!
