Text: Yes, the founding fathers used the word God. Ohhhh, scary. We've come quite a long ways since then, or at least some of us have; others haven't really progressed very much. The idea of separation of Church and State has been a common theme and was implied by the US Constitution. If you don't believe me, maybe you'll believe the writings by Jefferson as well as hundreds or rulings by US Courts. Our founders new that mixing the State's business with the Church could prove disastrous. Look what's happened recently. The religious right was basically used by the Bush administration to further their agenda, nothing more and once they were used for their votes, and they were basically thrown away and mocked. Religious people typically follow whatever they are told to believe, why else would they believe in an invisible being? As for the idea of freedom, my bad, I didn't realize that the first ten amendments had nothing to do with individual freedom-I should know better. The other ideas of freedom I was drawing upon were mainly from the declaration of independence that was my mistake! Sometimes I get the preamble and the declaration of independence mixed up, sorry! So what did you do to serve your country? Did you sit around and fart in the barracks living off a federal paycheck your entire 7 years in the service? Did you ever have to risk your life? Probably not. I don't know why you people think that everyone should serve in the military but not everyone wants to serve. If we are a free society, why should we have to? You Marines especially feel that way but that has a lot to do with you guys being on the bottom of the intellectual and military barrel. What does it take to join the Marines? A pulse and a weak mind. Anytime anywhere, isn't that how your slogan goes? Really smart guys! How's it feel to be a pawn serving your king? You haven't saved us from anything since World War 2. You guys are funny, at first you tell us we all need to go out and fight for freedom!!! Yet when you come back you tell us what we have to do and what we should think. What were you fighting for anyhow? Because it doesn't sound like freedom to me. And finally, why is military the only way for people to serve their country? There are other ways to serve this country other than fighting and killing people. But then again, you did it, so therefore everyone else should have to do it! Isn't that fascism?
I don't think the original poster was being rude to anyone, so why the response to them was rude, I have no idea.
You said that the constitution says that freedom is a GOD given right? hmm, GOD given huh? Thought GOD was unconstitutional according to most liberals. This is what the Constitution REALLY says. HAVE YOU done what the Constitution says as an American Citizen? The Constitution of the United States of America: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. I would like to know where exactly it mentions that Freedom is a GOD given right? I looked up the ammendments and saw it no where either. You meant the bill of rights. If you want to argue points, please have valid ones so the rest of us can look them up effectively.
I served 7 years in the USMC and I also serve in Law Enforcement.
Cindy is a disgrace, I really care nothing for her and I know for a fact her child would be disgraced and down right embarrassed about her actions.
It is an HONOR to serve your country and in my opinion you don't just get your freedom, you have to EARN IT. Freedom isn't free.
Sure you have the freedom of speech, but if you have done nothing for your country, you shouldn't even open your mouth
